Written on December 12, 2006 Summary: ONE OF FUNNIEST SHOWS OF ALL TIME Forget the premise of this show. Just watch it. This has one of the best cast ever. The writing is hilarious. Seinfeld is supposed to be the comedy of the 90's. I like Seinfeld but it does not compare to 3rd Rock. Not even close. Written on August 5, 2006 Summary: 3rd rock from the sun at least as hilarious as season 1. it's hard to believe the writers can top themselves each week and then have the cast perform them to a tee. and the cast is the best, there has not been as many menbers that have "lived inside the other" and make each show work with such fluid movement and harmony. Written on May 28, 2006 Summary: Wonderful stuff, but why the cut versions and where is the alternate ending? "3rd Rock" was wonderfully cast and written, and the production values are very high. The 3-D episodes are the most brilliantly produced sitcom episodes ever. The mix of high and low humor is Shakespearian, for those of us who've seen the best of say the RSC (others who have suffered through most American Shakespeare productions will think I'm nuts). So 5 stars - but what is the problem with C/W and their DVD issues - these are the syndicated cut versions from reading the other reviews, the 'Alternate 3D Ending" heavily touted on the box cover is not on the DVD or listed in the booklet, no Easter Eggs. Whoever controls the DVD rights is making dumb decisions about such matters - or worse preparing the way for a 'special edition' with what should have been here to begin with. Actually, all the buyers of this set could sue as class action for misrepresentation and demand either refunds or replacements. As "3rd Rock" is so much fun and about excess creatively handled, these issues are unfortunate. I understand C/W did the same thing with the "Roseanne" DVDs. It is a shame they don't respect their own work more. "3rd Rock" is way beyond most television, including "Roseanne" and deserves to be served better. Written on March 17, 2006 Summary: Hilarious!!!! These aliens are really funny, and we all know they're "out of this world," Don't we? Highly recommended for a good laugh. Written on December 20, 2005 Summary: One of the best shows of the 90's. This is one of the best purchases I have made this year. This is a phenomenal show and you will laugh your self silly. A great buy. |
