Professional Review:
For tangy tasting guacamole, some fabulously fresh ceviche or a cool batch of margaritas, this lime squeezer makes everything good to the last drop. Insert half at a time and press down like you would a garlic press. It turns the fruit inside out so seconds later you have all the juice without the pulp or seeds. Coated metal construction means it won't rust or react with juices.

Summary: Good for an Occasional Squeezer!
We have the orange, lemon, and lime squeezers. Ease of squeeze diminishes as size increases and fruit becomes firmer. An older, drier orange would be almost impossible for Hulk Hogan to get a drop out of. A small, juicy lime would be a whiz for an arthritic grandma.

Our objections are, the enamel peels off where the juice contacts it most strongly and repeatedly, so that bits of paint fall in your food preparations; the acid in the juice attacks the bare aluminum and causes pitting; waxy coatings from the fruit which build up on the inside surfaces of the juicers attract dirt and mildew and are virtually impossible to remove; and finally, the pin that holds the pieces together is steel and rusts.

Although these juicers get the juice out, we're now looking for an all stainless steel model with long enough handles so it doesn't take a lot of strength to juice a lemon, and doesn't shed paint and collect crud that can't be removed.

Summary: Get alot out of your lime for little effort
Our family squeezes alot of lime juice for our Vietnamese dipping sauce and this squeezer is very effective in squeezing out every last drop, while keeping the seeds out and your hands clean. Making lemonade has never been easier.

Summary: good design works, but bad enamel doesn't stand up for long
I've had both the yellow lemon squeezer and the green lime squeezer for nearly a year -- and now both of them are loosing their enamel. We use them a lot -- and I expected more.

Also, they don't give up the natural oils of the rinds in the dishwasher, and end up having to be washed by hand periodically. The small bowl shape is a real mess to try and clean. I'm going with stainless steel next time.

Summary: What Took Me So Long?
This baby squeezes with little effort. No more rolling the lime and wearing out my hand trying to squeeze. No more seeds in my drinks! May be a little awkward for some to get your hands around the handles.

Summary: Where has this been all my life
If you're like I used to be, you probably try to get juice from limes by stabbing them with forks, twisting futilely with juice-covered hands, while seeds, excess pulp, and a very little juice fall into whatever you're trying to lime up. Then I got one of these (and the yellow lemon-sized one as well), and life has never been the same since. It just works. Counterintuitively, you place the flat side of a lime half face-down into the rounded bowl-like opening of the squeezer, then press the handles together. A surprising amount of juice comes out with very little effort, and it all flows straight down through the strainer holes (as opposed to spraying all over the kitchen). The whole thing is enamel-covered steel, so it's very sturdy, and dishwasher-friendly. I couldn't be happier with it.
