 Written on January 1, 2008 Summary: What can I say? It's the Blues Brothers! I have always been a big fan. Who knew that 2 comedians could be this good and entertaining? I love watching the movie! Yes, it's ridiculous, campy, overboard, and pointless; but it is also entertaining, funny, heartwarming (trying to save the penguin) and action packed. It's one of the few musicals that I can sit through without skipping ANY of the songs. I recommend getting the sound track and the Briefcase Full of Blues album as well. Written on December 12, 2007 Summary: Classic Belushi I was wondering how this movie would hold up after not seeing it for so many years? It was still lots of fun, real classic Belushi. Ranks right up there just behind Animal House. Jake and Elmo will live forever and I only hope that the new kids coming up will appreciate the comedy and true entertainment genius of John Belushi A/K/A Senator Blutarski who we desperately need in the US Senate now. Written on October 27, 2007 Summary: Fun romp with the Blues Brothers If you need a good fix of great music and silly adventures; inept Nazis, cowboy bar performance and a car chase scenes that rivals "Bullitt", you'll have a fun couple of hours of entertainment. The guest appearances by various musicians and actors make this movie a classic. Written on October 9, 2007 Summary: Still full of soul and humor I agree that this 25th anniversary edition could be better, but it's a great print of a great film, with some extra footage from James Brown and other musical greats thrown in, so it's hard to complain. More than almost anything else he did, this movie shows why Belushi was a real star. The guy had presence to spare, and a real bond with Aykroyd, who wrote a great script with director Landis, who hit it out of the park with this one. No one was touting the soul survivors in those days, so the boys get big props for that as well. And what a band! It's hard to not love this movie. I saw it the week it opened, and it was a party in the theatre; wish that would happen again. Time for us to loosen up, folks! Written on August 10, 2007 Summary: I LOVE TO LAUGH!
