 Written on January 5, 2009 Summary: All I can say is WOW! I was hesitant to try yet another electric shaver. I've had nothing but trouble from razors, be it manual or electric. I'm 25 years old. I've tried EVERYTHING for shaving. I have really sensitive skin, breakout easily and get ingrown hairs easily. Several years back I'd tried a Norelco rotary shaver and had nothing but trouble. Everytime I'd use it, my neck and face would have tiny blood spots everywhere from where it lifted the skin & hair up and cut it. After that, I gave up on electric shavers. Then I went to you name it, any brand, 3/4/5 blade razors. They gave me a lot of trouble because they would cut the hair off below the surface of the skin and when it grew back it would become inflamed and ingrown. I tried every over-the-counter shave product, Tend Skin, The Art of Shaving products, Dermatologist suggested creams, you name it! So then I went to a 1 blade razor and only shaved with the grain. This seemed to take care of all the ingrown hairs, but didn't really give a close shave at all. I was just browsing Amazon and came across the Braun 790cc. It was definitely more than I wanted to spend, but now I can say its well worth the extra money. It picks up hair, no matter what direction it grows in and does a nice clean shave quick and easy. Out of the box, I was shaving within 10 minutes. Super easy to use, intuitive and it shaves great. It shaves the hair so close that when you run your hand across your face, you can't feel any stubble at all. The Braun did not tug on any hair, pinch me or give me the slightest reaction when shaving. All I can say is it is WELL WORTH the investment. If you've tried EVERYTHING and not gotten good results, try this. I used to hate shaving, now I look forward to every morning getting a close shave in just minutes. Thank you BRAUN!!! Written on January 5, 2009 Summary: Best Braun YET!!! 790CC this is the best Braun yet...I've owned 4 over the last 12 years and this is by far the best. the last one I owned was the 8595 360 and I thought this was good but this one is so much better...if you can buy it don't hesitate just buy it you won't be disappointed!! Only con but with Amazon's deal it was priced well. Written on January 5, 2009 Summary: Braun 790cc The REAL DEAL Like others over 50 I had it with electric shavers was ready to go back to Mach5. Gave this a try and was the best and quickest shave ive ever had. Usually my neck is very sensative and I hate shaving it with my old electric tugging out the wiskers, well no more! Smooth as a babys butt! Now the down side... 790cc initial cost SALE price $200. Clean and renew SALE price $32.24 for 6 FREE shipping add after 18 month as they recommend changing the foil/shaver $40 SALE price. For those that dont know you can use the Clean and Renew which is alcohol with a lubricant in it and that will last 30 days and Braun says a max of 8 weeks before it would everapate from the air. Now you can use water to clean it and have the hassle of air drying it, Braun even gives you oil to oil your shaver if you use water to clean it then once a week needs oiling. The clean and renew recharger/cleaning station with clean and renew in it cant go on planes since it is so flamable they even have to ground ship it to you. LOVE the shave best ive ever had but I figure the cost of this is $12+ a month figuring a shaver life of 36 months and changing the Clean and Renew once a month. So thats it the BEST at a COST! Now you know the rest of the story! Written on January 2, 2009 Summary: Braun Pulsonic 9595 -- Pre-shave Issue I bought this shaver February 2008. I like the close shave, & the cleaning system. However, the shaver recently began to strain, & sometimes had difficulty starting, even though the battery was fully charged. I called Braun customer service, & was informed that repairs would be on me (& not under warranty) if damage resulted from my use of pre-shave (and I do in fact use pre-shave). This was quite a surprise, as there's nothing in the shaver's literature that warns against the use of pre-shave (I use Williams Ultra). Has anyone else had this experience with Braun? Written on January 1, 2009 Summary: AWESOME! I purchased this to replace my Norelco Cool Skin shaver. Had it for years, was happy with it until I got the Braun...talk about exceptionally smooth, effortless shaving. The closeness of a razor without the pain of a razor. I used this to mow down my heavy beard and was blown away at the comfort and speed at which this works. I take with me for a month abroad and look forward to shaving. |
