   Summary: The Beast is amateurish.
The film is attractive visually though they sadly got the beast of legend wrong. The CGI effects are crap and the monster design makes very little sense compared to the account of an oversized wolflike creature in the historical French account of monster paranoia. They created a creature here that looks like a lion thats wearing armor. With all the fine tecnology put into this film, why couldn't they make a proper beast that looks resonably realistc. Jurassic Park made realistic monsters years before. The monster is all in all the main focus of this picture and they failed with that and concentrated more on Gothic Boobys and Kung Fu shenanigans which is entertaining in its own right, but wheres the monster.

   Summary: Great fun and excitement!!!
This movie was a lot of fun. If the thought of reading subtitles turns you off, dont let that deter you from this film. It flows very well. I think that the actors speaking French really enhanced this movie. The French language brings out the color and passion of this period that the director tries to portray. This film has everything, from the american revolution, to inserts of fueling of the French revolution. There is a good story line with good character development. And lots of exciting fight scenes for the adrenaline junkies out there.
The scenes of the french country side were breathtaking. Great cinematography!!!

   Summary: A masterpiece...
This movie makes Oscar winners look like videos made by Fifth Graders! The story opens in France before the revolution. People are terrified of a beast killing countless people and striking fear in the hearts of all. The cinematogrophy is unreal, the storyline brings you in deeper and deeper, and the characters develop more and more before your eyes. It pushes the 'real vs. unreal' boundries to the limit... and matches it with a story that pulls you inside a different century. One of the few movies that I give a 10 out of 10. A must see... No... a must own!

Summary: Twisted Path of the Wolf...
2001's "Brotherhood of the Wolf" is a unique and over-the-top mixture of martial arts, horror, and costume drama, set in 1700's rural France. A ferocious beast resembling a werewolf ravages the countryside. The local authorities call in a naturalist from Canada and his Indian partner to solve the mystery. The two men will encounter the mysterious predator, but discover that human predators, conspiring in a brotherhood of the wolf, may be even more dangerous.

The storyline traces a twisted path through the fields, forests, farms, bordellos, and chateaus of the French countryside, in the process becoming rather convoluted. Viewers should resist the urge to apply too much analysis to the overblown plot, and settle for enjoying the ride. The movie revels in its own vivid telling; clearly, no expense was spared on costumes and sets.

The cast and production staff are nearly all French; the only actor likely to be familar to U.S. audiences is Monica Belluci, who plays a prostitute.

One of the highlights of the film is a martial arts sequence early in the movie, where the naturalist and his Indian companion confront a group of thugs. The DVD features a longer version of this fascinating fight sequence in the deleted scences section.

This movie is recommended as a different and entertaining alternative to the normal run of American-produced action films.

   Summary: Movie
I saw this movie when it came out and have looked for it for a long time and finally I decided to check amazon, there it was.

If you like movies that show history in the more realistic with a plot and mythical mystery that this is the one you need to see. Brotherhood of the wolf is not a well known movie but, it is quite the leave where you are and travel into the past for the length of the movie.
It also, shows how mentally unbalanced man can be.

I received this movie quickly and with out delays.
