More than anything, Mitchie wants to spend her summer at a prestigious rock camp in order to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. Mitchie thinks her prayers are answered when her mother gets them jobs at the camp as cooks. Upon arriving at camp, Mitchie discovers the competition among the campers is tough both in the classroom, and for the attention of Shane - a teen pop star, and this summer's celebrity teacher. Shane (Joe Jonas)- who is seeking inspiration for his own music - overhears Mitchie singing, but never sees her face. Haunted by her unique sound, he sets off to find the girl behind the beautiful voice as she confronts her fears and learns to step into the spotlight.  Written on July 23, 2008 Summary: Camp Rock CD This is an excellent CD for young & old. The music is very catchy, entertaining & makes you want to dance. Have listened to it countless times at home and in the car. My children can't wait to see the movie in October. Well worth the purchase. Written on July 23, 2008 Summary: Good CD If you liked the movie you will like this CD it even has a bonus song that wasen't in the movie. Written on July 22, 2008 Summary: Jonas Brothers Make This Soundtrack Awesome! The reason why I like this soundtrack is because of the Jonas Brothers! Their music is so awesome, and the best song on this soundtrack would be their song "Play My Music." I really can't stand "We Rock," but just skip it! The rest of the music is nice, and enjoyable! Written on July 22, 2008 Summary: My Granddaughter was thrilled!! My granddaughter was so thrilled when she received the surprise CD in the mail. Once again you have a satisfied customer.  Written on July 19, 2008 Summary: No Words..... They are no words to describe this soundtrack. The only one that even comes close is horrible. Ok, ok, seeing as people apparently aren't happy with this review, I'll expand upon it. Camp Rock is the latest scheme disney has cooked up to steal money from hard working parents who are forced to spend money on their demanding children(seriously what happened to the good old days when kids asked politely instead of demanding). Camp Rock is nothing more then a cheap imitation of High School Musical trying to do rock. Now forgive me if I'm wrong but when i think of rock i don't think of cheesy lyrics and ridiculous songs but i guess it works for disney. The songs on this soundtrack are so corny and irritating that i just can't stand listening to the lyrics themselves. As for the voice quality of the album, well let's just put it nicely and say that i don't think the Jonas Brothers are cut out to be singers and the and the back up and secondary singers from the cast should stick to developing their acting careers. Though to be fair Demi Lavato does have some sort of voice and talent even if she is a washed up version of Vanessa Hudgens. In the end, if you want to buy something disney in terms of music please do yourself and your kids a favor and stick to the HSM franchise and it's stars where the only talent in Disney really lies. |
