 Written on August 15, 1999 Summary: A must see I had never heard of this movie until I had attempted to rent another movie and I came home with this by accident. I decided to watch it and was tremendously suprised in its quality. The relationship between Roth and Ormond is something we can all hope and strive for.  Written on July 3, 1999 Summary: Pleasantly Surprised by Tim Roth in a "Romantic" Role I totally disagreed with a review of this movie in which it was suggested that Tim Roth was not suited for this role. While I already knew that he is a brilliant actor, I was swept away by the chameleonic, sensual quality he displayed in Captives. Roth, like John Malkovich in Dangerous Liaisons, has proven that you don't have to look like Brad Pitt to be the romantic leading man. The ending was a bit rushed for me; however, Roth and Ormond are very successful in their attempts to portray the tortured characters in this strange and slightly twisted love story. Written on June 11, 1999 Summary: I love Tim Roth Tim Roth is one of the worlds most gifted actors. He can play just about anything, and he has. In truth I only bought this film because of I saw Tim Roth on the box, but after viewing it I found it to be one of his most intriguing characters. If you love Tim Roth also see Gridlock'd, Deceiver and the always popular Pulp Fiction. Written on January 13, 1999 Summary: A Must See! If you're in the mood for raw, brutal emotion this is it. Superbly acted story of the desperation of loneliness and the lengths one will go to for passion. BEAUTIFUL! Buy it, watch it. One of my Top Ten films of all time. |
