   Summary: CEIVA Digital Photo Receiver
My 84-year-old mother received one of these for Christmas last year. From the very first, it had problems. It has been non-functional now for at least 4 months. It was a wonderful idea for her because her grandkids could send her pictures of her great-grandchildren that she doesn't get to see very often. However, it was very disappointing for her when it quit working.

Summary: Keep this number handy.. you'll need it.
1-877-MYFRAME By the way.. you won't find this number anywhere on their website. They'd prefer you email them, so they can ignore you. Frame went out after just going over the warranty period, which is a whopping 90 days. This is after they replaced the power adapter (that was part of a huge batch of bad ones that were sent with many frames.) They'll be happy to sell you a refurbished model for $65 more dollars, though...

   Summary: Best Digital Option
We've run 4 of these frames for over 2 years now, and still love them. I bought them for Christmas when on rebate and kept one for us, and sent others to Mom, Dad and Mother-in-law who are all out of state. One of the 4 arrived damaged and did not work, but if you buy from a reputable source (Amazon.com for example) there was absolutely no problems getting a replacement shipped. They are somewhat fragile, so some breakage is to be expected. The parents, none of whom are really technically savvy, were all able to set them up and get them running no problem. Once you get the hang of how the frame translates the photos, you will start taking/selecting photos which are better rendered on the Ceiva screen. We've sent photos from coffee shops in Alaska, cruise ships and wireless laptops all over the country. Parents feel like they are there with us on vacation. Once you learn the website and how to manipulate the photos, it's really quite easy to work with. We even share one of the frames with my brother so that he can also send photos of a new baby. We think this is the BEST digital photo frame for the money and we recommend it to all of our friends. Everyone who sees it in our house is really impressed (too bad we aren't on commmission!). Since the recent arrival of our new baby, we are reminded regularly by the parents how much they love these frames. My dad even unplugs his and takes it places to show people the photos of his new granddaughter. It's really a GREAT investment and much less hassle than having to log on or look at e-mail for photos or having to load and unload from a memory stick.

   Summary: broken after 5 months
I bought one for my parents last Christmas. In June, it stopped working, and I sent email to their technical support. I've received no response. It's now November...

Both myself and my parents have called their tech support and gotten no response. No answer there. I've sat on their hold number for up to an hour, and it's not an 800 number...

If you scan their website, you cannot find a phone number anyway. I had to resort to finding the charge on my credit card, and calling the number there.

So, ours has been broken for five months, we've had no way of getting it fixed. It's probably time to give up and cancel my membership, but after such a hefty investment, it's hard to give up.

Great idea, but realize you may only be looking to replace it in five months. So, counting the service charges, ours cost a mere $44/month...

Summary: Best frame for the money
I bought the frame/service over a year ago and for the most part I'm very satisfied.

What I like about the Ceiva:
You'll be hard pressed to find another frame for the price.
At 640X480 it displays very well, images are crisp and clear.
If your creative and careful you can hang it from the wall.
The web service is easy to use and navigate, even with dial-up.
While I need the computer to upload images over the net, all grandma needs is a phone line.
Two buttons, no settings to screw up.
Ceiva is(as of this writing) owned by Disney.

What I don't like:
Customer support can be a bit weak, but they did come through for me when my "past warranty" power supply failed.
The web site, which is easy to use, could be streamlined for faster use.
---------------
While the unit will only hold 20 images, you can have thousands cycle through it automatically every day off the web over time. I have two of these units, my grandmother loves hers. If you have a digital camera, a digital picture frame is a must.
