Crafted from heavy-weight aluminized steel, which combines the durability, strength, and superior heat conduction of steel with the corrosion-resistance of an aluminum-silicone alloy. Coil-coating, a heat-application process, is used to bond Dupont's SilverStone no-stick coating to the metal. This state-of-the art process, used in manufacturing major appliances, means the rolled metal is coated at peak temperatures over 700ยบ F. Each pan is then formed from the quality-assured coil-coated roll. Unlike low-temperature sprayed or dipped coatings which are applied after other pans are stamped out, coil-coating assures strong, long-lasting adhesion and consistent, even coverage--there are no bare spots to rust or stick. Written on February 18, 2007 Summary: Great Professional Pan I am a professional baker, and I trust Chicago Metallic with all of my baking pan needs. This is an excellent quality baking pan. The price is a bit steep, but well worth the price. Your cakes bake up evenly, and are easy to release. I like it so much that I am buying two more.  Written on October 15, 2005 Summary: Garbage I bought this about two years ago and immediatly started using it. For a short period of time it worked just fine... and then everything started to stick to it. I finally through this in the garbage due to a coffee cake being stuck in there and not coming out, and no amount of cleaning would restore the pan. I will admit that I'm not a great cook, but I followed all the precautions for a non-stick pan and never overcooked anything. So, for me, this was a big letdown. Written on April 17, 2002 Summary: The Best I've baked 15+ cakes using various ingredients and every single one of the cakes has turned out excellent. I turn the temperature down by 25 degrees as is recommended on the label, and while every cake I've baked in these pans has come out a bit lighter in color than if I had used a regular pan, none of the cakes have ever come out dry or inedible. (True, part of the science behind this is dependent upon your oven temperature.) One thing worth noting is these pans cool down fairly quickly so you can just about wash them almost soon after (about 5 minutes) you take your cake out of the pan. |
