Written on December 9, 2003 Summary: Worth the cash Comanche 4's graphics are superb, if a little arcady. Although I found that I collided with hills a little too often this was probably as much down to my skill as the flight model. Tanks blow up nicely but using the 'ripple-fire' technique can be a bit complicated. Overall, a great game, worth the input. Can Novalogic please make it easier to create missions??? Get this now! most of what i had to say has already been said but i had a few things to add. the whole comanche series has been great and if you liked any of the previous titles (and novalogic games in general) then you're sure to like this one. novalogic makes thier namesake on making games realistic but fun and easy to play. today's computers will have no problem running the game at its highest detail levels. the simulation aspect can be increased (not mentioned in earlier reviews) through the game options and control settings. novalogic did improve on the c 3 model by fixing wierd problems like hover and how the 'auto altitude' liked to kick off on its own. above all else at its current price you can't beat what you get for your money. Written on March 15, 2003 Summary: More than I expected. When I saw this game for 9.99, I thought it might be a flop, but the graphics looked great, so I bought it. The exceeded my expectations. The scenery is great, the game play is great. Everything about this game is great. It runs smoothly on my 1.3GHZ AMD Athlon with a Radon 9000 Pro video card. If you are looking for a fun game, and don't want to spend too much, try this game out. Written on December 1, 2002 Summary: Stuff blows up great! When this game initially arrived, I played it enough to sprain my wrist. Things blow up spectacularly; this game really pushes current hardware. I use a Athlon XP 1700+ and ATI Radeon All-in-Wonder, and I'm upgrading the video card because higher resolutions are too slow. Note that the game warns about reduced framerates under Windows 2000 (I'm upgrading to XP, too). The missions all seem pretty short (I've played about ten of the thirty). They seem quite variable in difficulty. Sometimes caution is called for, and sometimes a mad, all-out rush is necessary. It's hard to tell when each is appropriate. The sound and video of this game are phenomenal. If you're looking for something to take advantage of your high-end system, I highly recommend it. |
