 Written on January 11, 2008 Summary: can't be beat I bought this set 8 months ago, but waited to write a review until I saw how they would hold up. Every piece is still going strong, and many have been dropped more than once. One bowl does have a manufacturing flaw in it, I make sure to put that piece at my place-setting when I use them for company. And I do use them for company, as everyday dishes, and as my cat food bowl. They work for everything. They take up so little place in my cabinet I was able to consolidate two shelves of stoneware dishes onto one shelf. Everyone is right: the mugs don't match. But you don't want a mug made out of corelle, the cup would get too hold to hold. I never use mugs when I set my table anyway, so that part didn't bother me. Get the white, it matches everything. Written on December 30, 2007 Summary: Good Stuff! A very nice set of pure white china. Very durable, dishwasher, and microwave safe. I dropped a bowl about 18" onto granite and it didn't break. All in all a good value. Be sure a read the one star reviews, it just people complaining about UPS smashing their order. My set was smashed twice, both times I was notified by both UPS and Amazon, and I did get my stuff. Things get damaged in shipping, it happens, UPS and Amazon take care of their customers you can order without fear. Just give them a chance to make it right. Written on December 24, 2007 Summary: Where have these dishes been all my life? Light weight, crisply attractive, and most importantly: chip resistant in a home full of dish chippers. These dishes are perfect for the clumsy cook who also happens to be lacking shelf space. I'm a little in love with them.  Written on December 18, 2007 Summary: Get exactly what you want and buy the items separately There are two things I don't like about this package. It was mentioned by reviewers that the cups are an ugly color of gray and don't match at all. This is true and I didn't care when I ordered but the cups are really ugly. After getting the items, I see that the bowls are way too small. I like the feel and weight of the Corelle and I wanted to match some dishes that I had already, but I wish that I had bought items separately. Written on December 1, 2007 Summary: More Than Promised - Very Happy With This Purchase This is a really great set! First off, let me say that I ordered it on a Tuesday night. It arrived, in perfect condition, Thursday night. No chips or breaks at all. I will say that this is a very plain Jane set -no bells or whistles. It's bright white (other than the mugs, which you can read about in other reviews.) They feel thin, which I don't mind at all, but they are really sturdy. I'd originally thought, if I received the set in great shape and they seemed to be working well for me, that I would order a second set just in case down the road they started breaking. I've changed my mind. Sorry, Correll, but perhaps you've made the product too well! I just don't see the need order a second set because I'm confident that these will last. The only thing that bugs me about the mugs -and they're a great size -is that, because they're not made of the same material, I'm sure they won't last as long. As long as you're not looking for anything fancy, and what's most important to you is their wear, I recommend this set 100%. And you just can't beat the price. |
