| Everybody's favorite precocious sprite of a soprano comes out with her third album in Dream a Dream. It's only been two years since Charlotte Church's smash debut, Voice of an Angel, but that's a big chunk of the Welsh singer's life span so far. This latest is basically a Christmas album, so full of festive cheer you'd never guess it was recorded in the summer. Even the glummest of moods will disappear when you hear Charlotte's infectious take on chestnuts such as "Winter Wonderland" and "Little Drummer Boy" (and having the London Symphony Orchestra as your backup band doesn't hurt either). And on top of that is a really special treat: the title song (borrowing an unforgettable classical melody) which blends Church's soaring vocals with the tender voice of young country prodigy Billy Gilman. --Sarah Chin |

Written on October 19, 2003 Summary: What a waste! After listening to Charlotte's "pop" voice in her Enchantment album, Dream a Dream showed me how much her voice has deteriorated since then. Her breathing is labored, she uses an awful chest tone, and her high notes are forced. Dream a Dream is a perfect example of Charlotte's good voice, and it is such a waste to see that her excellent soprano range has abysmally gone from good to bad. Someone has to talk some sense into that girl and tell her to take intensive training.  Written on September 26, 2003 Summary: Charlotte Church Sounds Heavenly. If you love Christmas and you love to listen to a beautiful voice and sweet songs this is the CD for you. Charlotte Church is probably one of the most talent singers around and she doesn't need to act all "cool" to sell CD's. Beautiful voice. Amazing talent. A great buy. :) Overall: Christmas Tunes you'll love! Buy it! Written on September 17, 2003 Summary: great voice Charlotte Church has a great voice. Many reviewers complained that her voice is weak. Hey, she's just a kid! She is a long way from Beverly Sills. Her voice adds much beauty to this christmas album. She sings many traditional songs such as "Come all ye faithful" as well as many lesser known songs such as "Ding dong merrily on high" and "Draw tua Bethlehem" ( Which is sung in her native Welsh). Each song is beautifully done. This CD will add greatly to the joy of the Christmas season. Written on September 10, 2003 Summary: The voice of an Angel singing christmas Songs I have been a fan of Miss church's since her debut album. WHen this christmas album hit i instantly went out and brought it. I wasn't disappointed. this Christmas album is sure to be a staple in the holiday seasons years to come. Miss church's sings the songs of the holiday season with such beauty , it almost seems effortless to her. To anyone who wants to her a beauitful voice sing the beauitful songs of christmas get this album. i give it 5 stars***** and two thumbs up!  Written on January 22, 2003 Summary: terrible terrible terrible thankfully i borrowed this from a friend. does simply imitating what she thinks opera should sound like make the cut? certainly not. I cannot believe opera is supporting disgraces like this these days. |
