Written on September 16, 2005 Summary: Pretty darned good... I am able to close my eyes while listening to this CD with high quality headphones, and effectively imagine myself at the seashore (does take a bit of imagination, but not too much). It's pretty much as well recorded as any other nature sounds CD I've heard, which is not necessarily high praise... I've never heard truly excellent realism with ANY recording of this type. I don't think it's possible to do with the limits of today's recording technology. Anyway, I do recommend this CD for those seeking this type of recording. Very relaxing indeed. Written on September 12, 2005 Summary: Needs a little something extra My only complaint is that you have to turn it up to hear some parts and others it gets really loud so if you are trying to relax and all of a sudden it gets to a much louder part it can kill your idea of relaxation.  Written on August 11, 2005 Summary: Does the Job! I purchased this CD to have a relaxing background while I was in labor and to help me sleep the last couple months of my pregnancy. Now that I've had the baby I'm putting it on for white noise for he and I to get to sleep. I am completely satisfied--there is no distracting music, it just sounds like you're by the ocean with the window open. Very relaxing, a very good deal. Written on June 1, 2005 Summary: Most realistic, most variety, best I've found Echoes of Nature: Ocean waves quickly became my favorite nature sound cd. It contains 4 tracks, each having a distinctly unique ocean sound. Note: If you are one of those who do not like animal sounds, a couple of tracks do contain seagulls and seals. I personally find them enjoyable, but then I am not using the cd to fall asleep. My personal favorite track is Big Surf as I love the huge crashing waves. Captivating and relaxing. I later decided to purchase other Ocean recordings just to have more variety but have not found any that are as good. (I've tried Solitudes, and Sounds of the Earth, but both were dissapointing to me in comparison). Written on March 14, 2005 Summary: Soothing Surf I enjoy the background sound of waves breaking on the rocky shore, with the occasional call of gulls thrown in. But most importantly, it puts my 3 1/2 month old son to sleep when it is time for a nap. Before this, I set the radio to a static station and listened to that for an hour. "Ocean Waves" is much better. If you have kids, you know what I mean. |
