Written on August 20, 2008 Summary: Great GPS but room for improvement Garmin has created a top notch GPS and it shows. This unit is very simple to operate and the screen is very crisp and clear. It boots up fast and is ready to use in a matter of seconds. The windshield mount is first rate, other manufacturers should copy it. I like that fact that I can remove the unit from the mount with one hand while the power cord remains connected to the base. I think that the maps could use improvement. In my opinion they look a little cartoonish. I had a Honda factory GPS in my Civic and the maps looked much more detailed and less like a cartoon. Garmin could improve on this if they wanted to. I also think that for the price of this unit it should have voice activation and come with an A/C power adapter so you can charge it in the house. Another feature I would like to see is a pop up screen showing your next exit. Magellan does this and it's a class act. Also, the accuracy of this unit is amazing. It chooses routs that I would normally take and if the traffic is bad it automatically reroutes.  Written on August 17, 2008 Summary: Great Unit! So far, this has been a great unit. I have owned a couple of Garmins and this one is the best. Written on August 14, 2008 Summary: Garmin NUVi 760 a great portable auto GPS Bought this unit for my wife to use in her car. It performs as expected and the blue tooth phone feature works great. Now she can get where she is going and drive using the hands free cell phone device all in one. Written on August 14, 2008 Summary: Garmin Nuvi 760 I am very satisfied with my purchase of the Garmin Nuvi 760 GPS. It's everything I expected it to be, i.e. user-friendly, compact, perfect size screen, easy to set up and offers excellent features for the price. Written on August 13, 2008 Summary: garmin nuvi 760 This navigation tool is quite easy to use. It works very well and the traffic information is interesting, though not necessarily that useful. I have not rerouted based on the information, but it is cool to know what might be coming up. The only poor feature noted so far is the points of interest section which doesn't work very well. I also wish it included more detailed instructions. I had trouble figuring out how to program to avoid freeways (under set-up) but you have to discover this for yourself. Still, it's a great gadget and the display is easy to read. |
