Written on May 9, 2008 Summary: Very nice grill According to condo rules, we can't use charcoal or gas grills on our deck. The George Foreman grill is an excellent alternative for us. It is easy to use and clean. Of course, it doesn't give a nice smokey flavor to meats and vegtables, but marinades can make up for that. Its one drawback is that water can get into the unit if you leave it outside, and the drip pan looks like it would rust if standing water were left in it. We solved that by covering it with a plastic trash bag, tied down at the bottom so it doesn't fly off. If you're in the market for an electric outdoor grill, this is a good one. [...] We camp 6 months out of the year and with rising cost of fuel, thought these would be nice to have in place of our gas grills (campground provides the electric in our annual rental fees). True you do not get the taste with these that you get with the gas grills or charcoal grills, but these are electric so you really can not compare apples to oranges. BUT, these grills are in a league of their own, that is for sure. Clean up is awesome. Being able to use as table top indoors or as a stand up outdoor grill is a big plus. And all foods that we have cooked so far has been excellent. Would definately buy again and have many jealous campers looker for these themselves. The portability of the grill is a great feature. Little tough to clean it in the kitchen sink, but we are happy with the purchase. Written on April 21, 2008 Summary: Great grill for the price I bought this here back when it was on sale for $44.00. This is one of the best electric grills I have ever owned. Very easy to clean. It stands up great to the outdoors and works just as well indoors. Food cooks very evenly and quickly. I've prepared several meals on this grill and my friends thought I was lying to them when I said it was cooked on an electric grill. This is by far one of my best online investments I've made in a long time. Make sure you clean it after every use!!! This is not advice for this grill alone. This is for any George Foreman grill. It's not like your average propane grill they have to be cleaned after each use in order to stay in good shape. Leaving food on the surface can eventually take the Teflon coating off. |
