 Written on May 26, 2007 Summary: Godspell: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Hi, I am glad I got this album now I've been searching for this album for a long time. I used to have a copy of this LP, which I don't have anymore, but I'm happy to finally have a CD copy of it, which sounds good, just like the LP version. And it's the original Soundtrack, which is good too.  Written on March 8, 2007 Summary: I would have returned it I bought this CD looking for "We Beseech Thee" from the play. It wasn't on there. I would have returned it, but the invoice said I couldn't if it had been opened. Written on January 30, 2007 Summary: Lifts your spirits! "All good gifts around us are from heaven above So thank the Lord, oh thank the Lord for all His love!" It's from 1973 but the lyrics and voices are still fresh. Written on September 1, 2006 Summary: I love this! Godspell was the foundation of my family. My parents met in a play of Godspell. They had the movie version, and we watched it so much. We even bought the soundtrack to the film and took it with us on vacation. We all knew all the songs and sung along. We all have pretty good singing voices, so it was a lot of fun! I still get choked up when I hear "On The Willows"... Written on August 12, 2006 Summary: I find it unbelieveable That this was released in March of 1973. I graduated from High School in June 1973 but swear I saw this movie when I was 15, in 1971. Beyond that, I'm most definitely NOT a born again Christian of any sort, if anything, I'm closer to an atheist when it comes to organized religion. Yet I absolutely love this soundtrack. It's all about what attracted me to God in the first place, and although it may be juvenile or naive, I STILL love this music. What a great combination of musical compositions (Turn Back, Oh Man!) and well, just plain fun. Not to mention spiritually uplifting. This is NOT what is now known as "Christian Rock" (i.e. "you are the Lord, the famous one" crap out nowadays). This is real down home, unreplaceable, MUSIC. Buy it and ENJOY! Prepare ye the Way of the Lord! |
