 Written on June 7, 2008 Summary: Not for me. I heard a ton of hype about this band so I was hoping that it was at least a three star album....no way jose! This album is dingy, boaring, and most of all stale. I only liked one song on the whole album...and don't be mislead this is not a symphonic metal album. It's just more of the same ol' same ol goth rock. Maybe the other albums by Lacuna Coil are better...but this album is yack.  Written on March 17, 2008 Summary: Karmacode Comalies was such an outstanding album, so the next album should be even better. Its not. They start out with the male singer and he is not really the best singer in the world. He sounds like he should be in a cover band instead. Cristina Scabbia's voice is the reason to buy this cd. What a great voice she has. I think if they replaced the male singer with a better singer, then this band would sky rocket to fame. A decent cd but I think its more of a step back then foward. Better luck next time.  Written on February 28, 2008 Summary: Lacuna Coil puts on a new game face this new album by Lacuna Coil is worth a listen. Cristina Scabbia is a fantastic singer. her and Andrea Ferro's voice intertwine, and when it is by itself, it is very beautiful. I especially like their cover of "Enjoy The Silence" by Depeche Mode. you should also purchase Megadeth's "United Abominations" and hear Cristina on "A Tout Le Monde". I wonder where this one reviewer had his head. he or she said that Lacuna Coil almost sounds like Korn. sorry to disappoint you, but this band doesn't sound like Korn. please don't insult Lacuna Coil like that.  Written on December 30, 2007 Summary: The First listen This is my first listen to LC and I find this band in a league of their own. Lacuna coil sound similar to evanescence, but LC is more heavy metal and not so commercialized. Cristina voice is original, deep and aggressive. In "our Truth" the opening is the best part of the song. The haunting tribal wailing from Cristina sent chills down my spine. The song would not be much of anything if Cristina wasn't singing it. The album openerer "Fragile" was mediocre, it was just loud and noisy. I think the less vocals from that male singer the better. "To the edge" I liked a lot due to the upbeat verses that really showcased Cristina voice. "within me" is actually a well put together duo piece that is easy listening to. "Devoted" is not a bad song either. The two singers compliment eachother very well vocally. The two best songs on the album are "What I see" and "closer." The hooks are catchy and lyrics are quite impressive. The last song on LC album is a remake of "enjoy the silence" they did a good job on it. This album is worth listening to, and I am a new fan of LC. I still don't think thay are as good as Evanescence. Written on November 14, 2007 Summary: Beautiful, amazing music! I am a new lover of Lacuna Coil. Thankfully, a friend introduced me to them, and I've been hooked ever since and borderline obsessed. Karmacode is full of rich, lush-sounding music and lyrics. It has been the only cd to grace my cd player since the day I received it. I have listened to every LC cd they have out, and Karmacode is my favorite! Yes it is a bit different from their earlier music, but I like my bands to progress with the time, which I believe LC has succeeded at. I would also recommend In A Reverie which is early LC. |
