 Written on December 5, 2007 Summary: Very Important Detail!!!!! Please understand that this is the only version of Kid Pix that will run in Mac OS X well and on Intel iMacs. It is a Universal application. The other Broderbund versions of Kid Pix 3 and 4 both have issues. Don't purchase those unless you want a seriously outdated version of Kid Pix that has to run with 256 colors and in low resolution. MacKiev Kid Pix Deluxe 3X is what you need if you have any recently Mac hardware. Written on September 29, 2007 Summary: Excellent game if you pick the right company... I bought this game almost two years ago for my son (who is now five). Today was the tenth time in the past few months, I have come down to see what he is doing with the game and found him doing something new and he's been playing it pretty regularily since we got it. He was taking the pictures they give you and using a special window that enlarges them so you can change the colors. Everything from lines to pictures can be three different sizes, different colors, different mediums (chalk, paint, marker etc.). One set of pictures isn't pictures but sounds. I could go on and on. My son could probably go on longer than that. The only reason I see for giving this software anything less than five stars is the disc isn't working. When I bought it all the reviews said five stars. That was the only way I bought it. And the best thing for me is that is downloads onto your computer and you don't have to keep putting in the disc to play it like all the rest of my kids games. Which of course leads to scratches and ruining the game. But really if you can find a good copy, I can't recommend it enough. We have a lot of computer games and this one is the only one that my kids don't get bored with. Written on September 18, 2007 Summary: unplayable My granddaughter has played this game at school and loves it. However, this one keeps jamming up so is unplayable. The actual price of the game was $.99 with $3.99 shipping so it's not worth buying from this company again.  Written on August 1, 2007 Summary: Could not get the program to work!!! I was unable after many attemptsto get this prgram to work with my windows xp!! It was a major diappointment and I had NO tech support avaiable to me. This vendor did not sent it with the orginal box. It was only the disc with no support number from the place I bought it from and the manufacturer said that they could not help on this product because I had no proof of purchase!!!  Written on June 26, 2007 Summary: not first hand review because was gift I honestly can't say "how much fun the game is" or "overall rating" only because it was a gift for my 7 year old nephew. He was familiar with the program from school and was really looking forward to getting his own copy. It installed with no problems, and he has been using it quite a bit, so with that, I'll have to assume it should receive a good rating. Sorry I can't be more help. |
