| An update to KitchenAid's most popular small appliance is their latest masterpiece - the 5-qt. Artisan Series Stand Mixer. In comparison to their previous 4.5-qt., this one is larger in capacity and combines a 325-watt motor with a heavy duty transmission that supplies constant power even when mixing heavy bread dough. Convenient, the polished stainless steel bowl is sized to hold large batches and recipes, and with its wide open design, accommodates the beater from the tilt-back head once it's lowered into the bowl. The handle on the bowl is ergonomically designed, contoured to fit the hand, facilitating lifting and pouring. Like the other models, this one, too, features KitchenAid's unique mixing action - the beater moves clockwise while the shaft moves counterclockwise, enabling the beater to reach every area as it mixes. It features 10 speeds from a very high to a very low stir. Included with your new stand mixer is a clear, two-piece pouring shield that fits around the top of the bowl, preventing splashes. A large chute lets you add ingredients along the way. Accessories include a Wire Whip, Flat Beater and Dough Hook for versatility. The rugged, durable, all-metal construction promises many years of dependability, quiet operation, and cooking and baking bliss. |

Summary: Not what I had expected As with many of you, I have been wanting a KitchenAid mixer for years. When my husband finally broke down and bought me one, I was estatic until I tried to use it to make bread. The first thing I noticed is that it did not mix the bottom or the sides of the bowl. I had to scrape the sides multiple times. Once I added the flour, the dough kept creeping up the mixer into the gears. When I tried to make cookies, I did more hand mixing than electric mixing. I can't decide if the bowl is just too small for what I am trying to do, or if I just don't know how to use this mixer. Either way, it is not a good match for me and I am extremely jealous of all of those who absolutely love it. Summary: Arrived beautiful and on time The Kitchen Aid 150 in beautiful, brilliant red arrived exactly on time and once washed we put it to use that afternoon with very little time spent perusing the instruction prior to use. Summary: kkitchenaid mixer This was a wedding gift so I cannot actually rate the product. I can only assume it is a good product. However, I was disappointed that I ordered it gift wrapped as a wedding gift with a card and it arrived sans wrapping or card. Summary: 4 years and Counting I got my KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart mixer for Christmas almost 4 years ago. It is the best investment our family has ever made. I make bread dough in it 2-3 times a week. Up until a year ago, I was also using it that often to mill flour for the bread. I've used (with great success) the pasta and meat grinding tools that can be purchased separately. I'll be getting a Pro 600 for Christmas this year and passing this one on to a friend. Why? My family of six goes through bread too fast and I need a bigger mixing bowl! I'm a Suzie-Homemaker type as well as a very frugal shopper, and this mixer helps me be both! I have easily made back the money I spent on it by not having to buy bread, whipped cream, cake mixes, or many processed foods from the store. The friend who will be receiving my Artisan asked me if the mixer helps shorten my time in the kitchen. I had to be honest and tell her, "No, because now I cook and bake more. But it does make that time much more enjoyable!" My only regret is that I didn't have Santa bring me the bigger mixer 4 years ago! Summary: Not a lasting product I had one of these for 4+ years and it started to give me trouble after 2 years of use. First the head got stuck and wouldn't lift. After struggling with it for a while, I finally could lift it but then when put down, the head was lower than before and the paddle would touch the wall of the bowl - I had to use my hand to hold it up during the mixing process. Very frustrating! If you still prefer buying a KitchenAid mixer, I would suggest getting the kind that lifts the mixing bowl instead of the mixing head. |
