Written on May 7, 2007 Summary: Tea Party Theme This is a fabulous little story for children & adults as well. I would recommend it without reservation. Miss Rumpius provides us a valuable lesson that I was pleased to be reminded of even at 65 y/o. My 3 y/o granddaughter & I will host a Mother's Day Tea that will include 4 generations & we are using the theme of Miss Rumphius for all to cherish. Written on December 28, 2006 Summary: She was inspired and still is My five year old daughter was just riveted when I read her this story. The second time (next day, at her request) she asked a couple of questions after each page. It is a story about adventure and making the world a better place by sharing stories and beauty. She has asked to have this story read many, many times. She loves it each time we read it. I admit this story even changed how I look at things. We love this book. Written on December 7, 2006 Summary: LOVE IT! I can't say enough about this book. It is so beautifully illustrated... definitely my favorite Barbara Cooney book. The story is so charming. You won't be disappointed! Written on October 19, 2006 Summary: A book that will put a smile on your face! " The Lupine Lady lives in a small house overlooking the sea." This kind gentle hearted character has a strong spirit that lives on in everyone that reads this book. Blue, purple, and rose-colored lupines grow in the illustrations of this story that covers a lifetime. The Lupine Lady's grandfather is also a golden-hearted man and gives Mary (aka) The Lupine Lady three things to do in a lifetime. This story has a hint of a quest in it as the Lupine Lady try's to fulfill these three things that her grandfather has given her to do. I recommend this book for all ages, and for people who like stories that put a smile on their faces. Written on May 22, 2006 Summary: 5 Stars! The book, Miss Rumphius, is one of my favorite books. I love the colorful illustrations and the touching story. This story is about a woman who is called Miss Rumphius by everyone she knows. Miss Rumphius travels the world with one mission- to find a place to live and make it beautiful. I believe that this story takes place somewhere in New England, specifically Maine, because of the sceneary in the illustrations. I recommend this story for kids between the ages of 5 to adults. |
