Summary: OTA Experience on Fairfax, Virginia
I recently moved to Fairfax, Virginia. I live in an apartment, near Fairfax Corner. I setup a Windows Vista Media Center PC for my personal entertainment (TV, DVD, Radio, etc . . .). I bought a Digital Tuner and a HDTV indoor antenna. The reception with the antenna is not too good. I capture a few channels, but the channels that I want are NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS and CW. From this list, the only channel with signal problems was CW. So, I read about this product and decided to try it. When I install the booster and try for CW, it has a bit more signal, but the same problem. I tried to adjust the antenna a few times, but no luck. Then, I remember another CW in the line up channels. It was CW Baltimore. Surprisingly, it captured this channel very stable, taking in consideration that Baltimore is farther then DC. So, the line up is NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS, CW [Baltimore] and MyNetwork. I will give a three star because I thought that the difference will be substantial. Maybe, is the area where I live, or maybe is the antenna that I have, or maybe is both. But in the end, I have 6 of my favorite channels, more stables, and the good thing, is that is for free.

   Summary: cable tv signal booster
Struggled with HD channel pixelation or no picture at all on certain HD channels. Cable technician suggested booster, as signal strength coming to home was ok. My problem was too many splitters, not to mention the HD cable box. As soon as I installed the booster, I have been very satisfied with all channels at night as well as daytime.

   Summary: Better than expected
I bought a 42" LCD HD TV and am still running analog cable. The higher numbered channels were pretty snowy due to all of the splitters throughout the house. I put this amplifier in line by the TV and wow what a difference. It improved all of the channels. Definitely worth the money.

   Summary: Worked as advertised
I moved my home office to the furthest point from the cable entry into my house, and that's when my internet connection started acting up. After a couple of days of research and talking to the cable company, it became almost 100% apparent that distance was the issue. I bought this, installed it (very easy installation) betwen the wall and my modem and it has been working flawlessly.

BTW, isn't it a shame that your cable company says "yep, you are having a problem because of distance" and then they tell you that you're on your own. Don't you think they would want to do everything in their power to keep their customers happy in this competitive market?!

Summary: Did the opposite of what it was supposed to do!
I bought this item based on the reviews here on Amazon.com from other HDTV users and after trying every possible antenna angle and every possible configuration it WEAKENED my signal strength by half! What a waste of money. I bought the Antenna Direct DB-2 and it works remarkably well especially considering it uses no power but I was hoping that this would boost the signal strength a bit as I consistently get between a 45 and 55 % signal. After hooking up this product, I could never get a reading any higher than 25%. Buyer beware! it may work fine for cable but don't buy this expecting it to increase your over-the-air HDTV signal. Invest in a good antenna instead!
