Professional Review:
The best soundtracks are like movies for the ears, and O Brother, Where Art Thou? joins the likes of Saturday Night Fever and The Harder They Come as cinematic pinnacles of song. The music from the Coen brothers' Depression-era film taps into the source from which the purest strains of country, blues, bluegrass, folk, and gospel music flow. Producer T Bone Burnett enlists the voices of Alison Krauss, Gillian Welch, Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley, and kindred spirits for performances of traditional material, in arrangements that are either a cappella or feature bare-bones accompaniment. Highlights range from the aching purity of Krauss's "Down to the River to Pray" to the plainspoken faith of the Whites' "Keep on the Sunny Side" to Stanley's chillingly plaintive "O Death." The album's spiritual centerpiece finds Krauss, Welch, and Harris harmonizing on "Didn't Leave Nobody but the Baby," a gospel lullaby that sounds like a chorus of Appalachian angels. --Don McLeese

   Summary: Excellent
Definitely one of the best Coen brothers movies and one of the best albums I have heard in a long time. From start to finish it is an amazing work of art. Just listen to Ralph Stanley's haunting "O Death" and you'll understand the power of this soundtrack. I wasn't a fan of bluegrass before listening to this album and now I love it. An awesome collection of music that doesn't have a single dud in the entire album.

   Summary: SD CD
There was no explanation what a SD CD was. Be careful if ordering from this seller. No one can listen to the CD without a specific SD CD player which isn't even sold anywhere. Seller also asked me to pull my bad feedback and offered me a gift certificate if I gave good feedback. Very tacky!

   Summary: Stellar
I don't have anything to add to everyone else's rave reviews but my review is here simply because it deserves my 5 stars. Fantastic soundtrack.

Summary: Its the album that got me hooked
This is the album that started my love affair with old time, bluegrass, american roots and folk music. An excellent place to start and a must for the music library. There is only one tune I don't particularly care for but when in the mood I'll still give it a listen...Buy it.

I loved the movie and listen to the soundtrack constantly. It's great to sing along with...or try to!!
