Written on May 4, 2008 Summary: great speakers for intro home theater i live in a small studio apartment, and these are great speakers. quality is very good, and it does put out a nice amount of bass. they also look pretty classy. Written on April 25, 2008 Summary: Decent speakers for the price Bought the Polk Monitor 50's two weeks ago. They replaced a 25 year old set of B&W DM330's. For the price they're hard to beat. Good clear sound, even at high levels. The reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is that you really NEED a subwoofer with them. They are overly strong in the high-end frequencies, and have almost nothing in the low-end. I ended up buying the Polk PSW10 subwoofer and now have a nice, balanced sound. Written on April 9, 2008 Summary: Good speaker I purchased two of these speakers for my Surround Left/ Right for my 7.1 Channel Onkyo 805 home theater. I previously purchased Polk audio 60 for my front L/R and honestly I don't find any difference in sound. Although P-50 has two channel and P-3 has 3 channel. Also this one is a bit smaller then P-60. They both are evenly good. Grab any of it... Written on April 7, 2008 Summary: Good value, Good speaker This is a all around good speaker especially for the money. If you need really good bass though you'll need a subwoofer. If the price on these is what you set for your budget I don't think you'll find a better choice.They look exceptional and fit really nice aside the tv stereo rack without being overwhelming in size.  Written on March 26, 2008 Summary: These are what I was looking for!!! When I wanted to upgrade my home theater/stereo sytsem first I bought a home theater in a box since its reciever boasted 1000 watts and had HDMI inputs but when it came to the sound it just didnt cut it and was returned. After that dissapointment I did my research and came up with these excellent speakers that I hooked 2 of these up to an older analog Technics 230w receiver and it blew that 5.1 speaker system clear out of the water for less money(although I need a sub). If these speakers can make heavy metal sound lound and crystal clear... anything else will too! |
