 Written on April 10, 2008 Summary: Great sound for a small CD player I liked this product so much I bought 6 more. So many of these small CD playes have such tinny sound and cheap construction. This piece sounds great and I'm expecting many years of service from it, just like the one I originally purchased 4 years ago.  Written on March 11, 2008 Summary: Best Alarm Clock I've Ever Had I received this alarm clock for my Brithday last April. I ahev really enjoyed it. I have had none of the problems I have seen listed in other reviews here. I do agree that the button layout takes some getting used to. The snooze button is not where one would anticipate it being, and this led to me searching for it the first few mornings I was awakened. I did acidentally open the cd disc holder a few times, since that button is where you intuitively think the snooze button should be. However, after the first few nights this has not been a problem. It is nice to be able to choose which color you want the display to be. I typically keep it set to green. When the alarm goes off in the morning the display changes to red and flashes with the alarm. It will stay red after you hit snooze. This has been helpful to me (I am a heavy sleeper and sometimes forget that I have been hitting snooze for an hour) since I know I am in the process of oversleeping if I glance at the clock in morning and it is red. the display turns back to your default color when you turn the alarm off or after the alarm has been going off or being "snoozed" for two hours. The sleep function is nice, and it is easy to set the amount of time the radio/cd will play before going to sleep. The only thing I would have liked to see here would be for the music to fade out when sleep timer is out. As it is it just shuts off, which is standard for clock radios, but a fade would be nice. Overall I am very pleased with this clock, and I normally don't like anything from RCA. Written on March 5, 2008 Summary: Great Clock Radio I have had this radio for over a month. This is a great clock radio with lots of useful features. Good radio reception if you stretch out the power cord like the suggest in the owners manual. The small CD player control buttons on the front are a bit cumbersome to use because you need to hold on to the radio to keep it from moving away from you as you press them. The sound on the weather band is very weak and has to be turned up to be heard. Then if you forget to turn it back down the CD or FM radio sound is too loud. I would definitely recommend to a friend.  Written on February 11, 2008 Summary: Doesn't Work This clock radio has been a huge disappointment. I have appreciated the battery backup and the large display,but the CD player stopped working after only a few months. It's also very frustrating that the button to open the CD player is in the place that most people would expect to find the snooze button. All in all, a very disappointing purchase. Written on February 9, 2008 Summary: Big Price for Little Radio... I have to agree with most of the other reviews, this product simply just falls flat. For the price, one would expect more... oh so much more! No ear phone/head phone jack... has trouble reading disks... the CD doors jams about every five times I use it... horrible instructions and I have learned through the years, if the manufacturer only warranties the product for 90 days (as with this clock radio), they obviously don't have much faith in their very own product either. I would never purchase another one of these clock radios. It is simply overpriced for what it delivers. |
