Ever! does its best to cover both well-worn classical favorites (Bach's "Air on the G String," Pachelbel's "Cannon," Debussy's "Clair de Lune") and some eclectic left-field choices (an excerpt from Górecki's Symphony No. 3, Jocelyn Pook's "Blow the Wind," and Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings. The performances of most of these excerpts are top-notch--artists include Sir Neville Marriner, James Galway, Jacqueline du Pré and the Philadelphia Orchestra--and there's enough variety here for everyone. --Edward Garabedian |

 Written on February 28, 2006 Summary: Relaxing Classics This album is exactly what I was looking for -- soothing, quiet, inspired music to play at work for stress management. I didn't even get to listen to the second CD before someone borrowed it. Written on February 24, 2006 Summary: Really is the most relaxing album in the world I've never had any formal training in classical music, but I do know what I like ... and this is one of the best compilations I've come across for quiet, relaxing music. Perfect for background music while you're working.  Written on February 20, 2006 Summary: My only beef.... OK, did the album live up to my expectations, after reading some of the reviews here? Yes, but with one exception: I'm not a big fan of having vocals along with the classical music I listen to. I find it distracting, as I tend to play classical music on my days off... as relaxing background music. (However, contrary to what some purists here have suggested, that DOESN'T mean I don't actively listen to the music some of the time. I DO have my favorites!) So my one "beef" with this album is there are several tracks where somebody's singing. Both my wife and I found that to be very distracting. Other than that, this is a nice, surprisingly long album to add to your playlist. Written on February 17, 2006 Summary: The Best Music My daughter (age 2) and I absolutely love these CDs. We listen to them in the car when we travel anywhere. We even love to dance to it. I highly recommend this if you like classical music! Written on February 1, 2006 Summary: music for my toddler to sleep to I purchased this and the next set for my 2 year old to sleep to. I haven't opened the second volume yet but this 2 disc set has been excellent. |
