Summary: A great debut that sets the bar very high
When I first heard 'I Hate Everything About You' I was hooked. Three Days Grace came off sounding so much like my favorite band at the time (Finger Eleven) that I almost instantly ordered their album. After recieving it in the mail I listened to every track with this intense air of unwavering attention and I became more and more pleased with my purchase as the tracks ticked away one by one. Songs like 'Burn' and the aforementioned really display the angust in this band, and tracks like 'Just Like You' and 'Home' served as ample single material, but it was 'Wake Up' that really grabbed my attention. As one of the more mellow tracks on the album it really showed the grace (no pun intended) this band has in the studio and delivered the most unexpected and overall entertaining track on the album. Great debut that left us all waiting for their sophemore album, which is just as great!

psssst.... Home, I hate everything about you, and just like you... are nothing compared to what this band can do... please don't do something stupid like miss out on this, there next album (it just come out) is different just like this band... it doesn't suck... how often you see a band do that?

Summary: Amazing debut album!
This is a great debut album, and its one of the best debut albums I've heard! There isn't a track on here I don't listen to, which is pretty rare for me. The first song I heard by them was the inevitable "I Hate Everything About You", and I didn't like it at all. It was probably a stage in my life where the angry rock music Three Days Grace plays did not suit my music tastes. Then "Home" came out, and once again, I did not like it (for the same probable reasons). Plus, the video really wierded me out, and it still does. Then I heard "Just Like You". This was the first song by Three Days Grace that I actually liked, and I also LOVED the video. For a while, that was all I listened to by them, until I got in one of my `I'm bored of my current music' moods. Then I listened to the entire album, and I really enjoyed it. I think my music tastes had changed, so the music I listened to was harder and angrier music, enabling me to fully enjoy their album. I even ended up liking the songs that I had hated before. Here is my track by track review of the album: 5 stars being the best!
1. Burn: 5/5 stars - This is a great track for the album to open with. It's loud (one of the loudest on here) and it's just a great track! It's not one of my top 3, but it's still a great track!
2. Just Like You: 5/5 stars - One of my favorite songs of the album, and as I said before, the one that introduced me to the band. I can NEVER get tired of hearing this song. I think I can definitely relate to it. There's a lot of people I know that are like what he describes, and I don't want to be anything like them. I also can relate this to my father, because while I love him a lot, he's nothing like what I want to be, and he's got a lot of traits that I don't want to have!
3. I Hate Everything About You: 5/5 stars - I love the guitar part to this album - it's simple, but awesome! Even though it was played over and over again on the radio, I still love it, and I can't get tired of it. Great song!
4. Home: 5/5 stars - This is a good song. It's not one of my favorites, but I can definitely listen to it, and I think it's pretty awesome and LOUD.
5. Scared: 4/5 stars - While still a good song, it's not one of my favorites, and I find myself skipping it on occasion. It's one of my least favorite tracks on the album, but it's still good!
6. Let You Down: 5/5 stars - One of my favorite songs on the album. When I first heard it, it reminded me of my ex-boyfriend. I told him a lot of stuff, and I thought I could trust him, but he turned out to be a jerk, and sort of let me down. I think it's a relatable song on the album, because I think most people have had someone let them down.
7. Now Or Never: 5/5 stars - Another one of my favorites off the album! I loved it the first time I heard it!
8. Born Like This: 4/5 stars - While it's a good song, it's not one of my favorites and I tend to skip it on occasion. This is my other least favorite song!
9. Drown: 5/5 stars - I LOVE this song. It's one of my favorites, and I can relate. I've had times where I've felt like I was alone, and all my friends had disappeared. I love the chorus: "If I need someone to control me, If I needed someone to hold me down... I would save myself before I drown". I think it's about living your life for yourself, and really just being who you are and not letting anyone change it.
10. Wake Up: 5/5 stars - I also love this song! It's another one of my favorites! I have a lot of them! It was another song that reminded me of my ex, and it was because, at that time I was very angry at him.
11. Take Me Under: 5/5 stars - Another one I love. It's probably my favorite song on the album. I have lyrics from it on my backpack (then again, my backpack has all kinds of random stuff on it! I've heard several meanings behind it, including that it's about sex. However for me, it seems like it has more meaning than that. I've always seen it as relating to someone wanting to commit suicide. Their dreams are gone, and they feel like they have nothing to live for, so their just waiting for something to take them away from this life. That's what I get from the lyrics and overall feel of the song. I'll often listen to it when I'm feeling sorta depressed.
12. Overrated: 5/5 stars - This a very good song and it's a good way to close the album. I really like this song. To me, it sorta relates to how teenagers think that their parents and we can't relate to them and that we come up with answers on our own.

Summary: A Fairly Graceful Album
Three Days Grace released a pretty fair sounding Rock album. Their self titled and debut record brought the band heavy attention by radio, music television stations, and soundtrack industries. The rock band even landed themselves a performing appearance in the film Raise Your Voice. Three Days Grace has the sound of must rock groups, mainly a IV-V-I chord progression using mostly power chords. Sometimes the group does throw in a vii chord, which does give the band's sound some flavor. THREE DAYS GRACE is repetitive at times, but after awhile, an acoustic track is thrown in, of a unique sound or electric guitars are used. For a record in its genre, THREE DAYS GRACE is a pretty good rockfest.
