 Written on July 7, 2008 Summary: The perfect solution Super easy setup!! I was looking for a GPS receiver to use with Microsoft Streets and Trips. This device is that perfect companion. With a regular GPS device you can't plan custom trips. The combination of a receiver and a laptop running mapping software allows me to plan (and save) custom routes. Written on July 2, 2008 Summary: Great service I received my gps receiver in a very shot time. The gps reciever is very accurate and best of all it worked straight out of the box with the added driver software. My Iguidence had no compatability problems with the bu-353. Great product and great seller too. Written on June 26, 2008 Summary: Never get lost again Item arrived in excellent condition, and worked exactly as described. I have no problem getting signal from GPS satellites at any part of the day. A great product at an amazingly affordable price. Written on June 19, 2008 Summary: this thing is great! powerful magnet if you want to put it on the roof, works great on the dash though. Stronger signals than my garmin legend. Will hold a signal under trees or in the city where my garmin looses. With all of AZ 7.5 topo maps on my laptop, it makes for a nice addition to my off-road fun. Written on May 26, 2008 Summary: Good GPS, Easy to Install. I got this for longer trips where turn-by-turn guidance would be nice. Came with drivers, and works great on Windows Vista. I already owned MS MapPoint, and it has worked well with it. It gets a lock quickly, holds a strong signal even inside the vehicle, and all in all I've had no issues with it so far. I used a port splitting application to use the unit with multiple programs, and that has worked well for the most part, except there was some time delay issues unrelated to the unit itself, that I think can probably be corrected. Overall I'm pleased with the product. It beats the heck out of buying a $300 car navigation unit when you already have a Laptop and mapping software. EDIT: After having the unit a while, I had it break on me. It still operates fine but the top plate has broken off. Attempted to contact the manufacturer and was blatantly ignored. Be advised according to the manufacturers website units bought at Amazon are not covered by warranty. |
