 Written on July 18, 2001 Summary: Hmmm.... interesting... Well, I can say that this book did nothing for me. I'm sorry to be harsh, but the tone was whiney, and implied "See? I'm better than all of you but I still like sleepovers!" In short, after reading this book, I kicked over a crate of them at a [local] bookstore... Written on July 10, 2001 Summary: a joke of a biography I can't imagine anyone buying this book because I feel Charlotte Church is too young for the biography to mean anything. "My life so far" implies that the book is not complete, but somehow Charlotte is so great that she deserves to have a book out now. Why can't she wait until she is a little older to tell us all? Many other people have accomplished just as many things as Charlotte and decided to wait until they had more material to write for a book. I would seriously question the value of reading something like this, since Charlotte refers to "mum" and "dad" so many times it makes you wonder about the literary quality. A biography is supposed to document one's life but if you are so young, you really haven't lived. Hence, there is nothing really to document. And consequently, there is nothing really of interest to read in this book.  Written on July 8, 2001 Summary: THIS BOOK WAS SUCH A AWERSOME READ Look at the subject first. I feel this book really showed the Charlotte Church that the fans don't know. It showed not a famous person who she was, but at the same time the person that she is really is. Its hard to explain my feelings on this book, but I know I enjoyed reading it. Written on April 26, 2001 Summary: Short and sweet, or sweet and short A fun read for fans of Charlotte that can be read by everyone in the family. No earth shaking words of wisdom, but lots of smiles. Written on April 21, 2001 Summary: Pretty good... Charlotte can sing a whole lot better than she can write! I wasn't impressed by her biography---too naive for my tastes. It's meant to inspire, but while I didn't toss it down in disgust, it didn't make my best book list. Pass this one by, folks. |
