 Written on July 18, 2007 Summary: Nice item, probably not worth $20. This is a nice addition to your wine accessories. Works well and is well made but I think $20 is a little much for this item. Written on May 10, 2007 Summary: Works great for decantering! The funnel works great for pouring wine into a decanter, the screen effectively strains sediment build-up in older wines or cork if you happen to have the unfortunate luck of getting a bottle with a dry cork that breaks on you. The screen comes out of the funnel very easilly to clean as well. One thing I would note is that the spout does not fit into a bottle opening (as oppose to the decanter opening) if you want to pour the wine back into the bottle (for whatever reason). It does a super job filtering and works well as a funnel, but the four way aeration is the highlight of the show. It is also easy to clean and looks great. This is the solution. Since I am not very responsible about turning the bottles in my wine collection, there is often some sediment with which to deal. I don't really want to serve my guests "chewy" wine, and this funnel/strainer solves that problem with great style. You'll love how it pours down the side of the decanter. The strainer and funnel are two separate pieces, making cleaning up a snap. |
