Summary: A top notch creation, as expected from Blizzard
Blizzard is known for their million seller series of Starcraft, Diablo, and Warcraft.

If you never heard of Blizzard, then you must be out of PC gaming world. Their existence is that important.

So, like expected, Blizzard brought us another wonderful add-on to an already incredible game; and it's name is Warcraft III : The Frozen Throne.

This is a must-get for any RTS mania. It is so good that in fact, anyone that ever played any video game in his/her life needs to buy this. There is so much more than just plain old stragety to this game.

Campaign mode is just jaw-dropping good. The cinematics are way over the top of anything, especially when you acknowledge the fact that this game was released in the summer of 2002.

Already 3 years old but it doesn't seem like it because if you're a TFT player you know there are so many things to do with the game that you rarely get bored.

Aside from the world first class Campaign mode, there is the unbelievable map editor that comes with the game CD in which you get to not only edit existing maps by changing terrains, but start fresh new with an empty map and fill it with stuff, or use triggers to make custom games that exceed the popularity of most other RTS games....which is a real shame.

I mean, you would expect game makers to make games right after seeing so many people go kuckoo over Starcraft, but in 9 years there has never been a single RTS game that came nearly close to the greatness of Starcraft in my opinion. The closest though, however, should be Warcraft III.

As a conclusion, buy this game if you haven't. Absolute wonderfulness packed into 2 CDs of the original and the add-on. If you still need a reason to buy, just know that this is one of the very best in the RTS genre. So rarely do you get to buy a game like this...

   Summary: wholly addicting
I think Blizzard is overly modest in labeling these programs as Expansion sets. I've been playing WarCraft since WC II and I felt that its expansion set, as that of WC III, are more like whole new editions of the game, so Frozen Throne should actually be WarCraft Five. Frozen Throne doesn't just add maps and characters, there has been a clear tweaking of the game. Everything builds a little faster, or maybe that's because I play mostly Human and have been winning more, so maybe Blizzard corrected some of the Race inequities from WC III. No longer does ever battle with a Night Elf end with my opponent rushing and destroying me in three minutes. But I digress. The main point I want to make is that Blizzard is totally committed to pleasing its fan base. The best example of that is the roster of Neutral Heroes. Owners Manual lists five, the game actually has eight, so they are constantly evolving the game. Just the other day, they released another bonus map online for Frozen Throne. Compare this generosity to what EA Sports does with the John Madden Football franchise, which is to fluff the feathers a little each year and ask you to buy the new edition whether it's new or not. WC III came out, what, almost five years ago and it's still fresh, thanks to the Expansion set and you don't have to ante up $50 each Xmas to keep playing an up-to-date game. PLUS, you play online for free? You just don't get that deal anywhere else.

Summary: Great addition to a great game!
When I first went to my friend's house to play Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos, I had lots of fun! I didn't enjoy the normal maps too much, sadly, and I wasn't really looking forward to buying the game.

Then, I went online with my free Battle.net account and downloaded a player-made map. I really loved the map, so I decided I'd save up and buy Warcraft 3. The game kept me entertained on and off. I'd play it for hours on end, then I'd stop for about 2 weeks, then go back to play it again! New maps are made almost every week, as players love to find fame. I, myself, have made a number of maps.

Anyway, when my friend got the expansion pack, I played a few Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne maps at his house. WOW! They were great! I couldn't stand having the game without the expansion! So, I got my allowance, and bought the expansion!

I recommend this to anyone who likes RTSes (real-time strategies) or even people who DISlike them, because the game could be called an "ActionAdventure Role-Playing Strategy Sports Driving Sim" or something! It's a multi-genre!
